Background. The New South Wales Parachute Council (NSWPC) is governed under the auspices of the Australian Parachute Federation Ltd (ABN: 75 061 266 510) IAW ref A and B.

Appointment. Appointment as Chair is IAW ref A-B. Ref B specifies that the Chair is a member of the Council Executive. This is therefore a mandatory position.

Responsibilities. Are detailed at ref B, in addition the Chair is to:

  • Chair and manage NSWPC meetings.
  • Manage the annual general meeting.
  • Represent the Council at local, regional, state and national levels.
  • Act as a facilitator for club/group activities.
  • Ensure the planning and budgeting for the future is carried out in accordance with the wishes of the members.
  • Work with others to develop Council KPI’s.
  • Liaise with NSW Dept Sport & Recreation in regards to obtaining and acquiting funding.

  • NSWPC Committee Meetings,
  • APF Area Council Chairs Monthly Meeting with APF CEO
  • APF Area Councils Executive Quarterly Meeting with APF CEO
  • Chairs | Claude Gillard Australian Skydiving Legends Award

Bank Accounts. The Chair should not operate the bank accounts, in order to refer any conduct matters accordingly.

Selection Criteria. Ideally the Chair is someone who:

  • Can communicate effectively, 
  • Is well informed of all organisation activities, 
  • Is aware of the future directions and plans of members, 
  • Has a good working knowledge of the NSWPC & APF Consitution, Combined Club and Council Regulations and other NSWPC & APF rules, as well as the duties of all office holders and sub-committees, and
  • Is a supportive leader for all organisations members.
